知床羅臼ネイチャーウォッチングクルーズ

世界遺産「知床」の東側、羅臼の海は水深が一気に1,000ｍ以上になるため、流氷によってもたらされた豊かな栄養が植物プランクトンや動物プランクトンを発生させます。それらが魚を育み、シャチやクジラ、イルカたちが集まります。また、豊富な餌を求め、遥か赤道を越え南半球から渡ってくるハシボソミズナギドリが多い時には何万羽という群れになり、海を黒く染めることから圧巻の野生を感じることができます。

Shirekoto Rausu Nature Watching Cruise

The sea of Rausu on the east side of the World Heritage “Shiretoko” is over 1000meters deep at once and there are many nutritious planktons brought by drift ice. They raise fishes and gather whales, dolphins and killer whales. And short-tailed shearwater come to Rausu from southern hemisphere crossed the equator in search of food. When the flock of this bird is tens of thousands of birds, the surface of the sea of Rausu is dyed black and you can feel very impressive wild nature.

野付半島・野付湾

知床半島と根室半島の間に位置し、全長26kmにもなる日本最大の砂嘴の野付半島と囲われた野付湾。あわせてラムサール条約に登録されています。５月から10月までは次々と花が咲き誇ります。半島を通る道路は通称『フラワーロード』と呼ばれ、初夏には海に浮いたお花畑の中をドライブする感覚を味わえます。また、多い時で２万羽の渡り鳥が飛来し、特にコクガンの国内最大の中継地となっています。夏・秋は北海道遺産「打瀬舟」によるホッカイシマエビ漁が行われています。

Notsuke Peninsula・Notsuke Bay

Notsuke Peninsula is located between Shiretoko Peninsula and Nemuro Peninsula. It’s the largest sand spit in Japan. Notsuke Bay is surrounded by this peninsula and is registered on the Ramsar Convention’s list. Flowers bloom one after another from May to October. Crossing road in this peninsula is called “Flower Road” and in summer you can feel drivind in the flower garden float on the sea. So many migratory birds come to this area and especially is the largest stopover in Japan for brant goose. In summer and autumn, fishermen go fishing hokkai shrimps with the fishing sailboat “Utasebune”. This fishing method is one of the Hokkaido Heritage.
