根室フットパス

 

根室フットパスとは、厚床・別当賀地域のUターンの青年酪農家５名が、都会から来た人たちに酪農や地域産業が作り出した景観を見て、知って、応援してほしいと整備したフットパス（歩く道）で現在６本のコースがあります。そのなかでも「別当賀パス」は、根釧地方の原生的風景を色濃く残しているコースです。車を別当賀駅に置き歩き始め、草原、天然林、そして湿原をぬけると終点は太平洋が一望できる断崖絶壁で、日本とは思えない美しい風景が広がります。

Nemuro footpath

footpath was made by five dairy farmers in Akkeshi and Bettouga so that the city dwellers visit there, feel the dairy farming and the local industry and support them. Now there are six courses of footpath. Among them, “Bettouga Path” is strongly left primitive scenery of Konsen region. After parking your car in Bettouga station, you start walking in grassland, primeval forest and wetland. The last spot is the precipitous cliff that overlook the Pacific Ocean and it’s hard to believe there is a place like this in Japan.

 

Map costs is 200yen.　Time required: 1h-4h

Walking the footpath

 

There are the dairy landscapes of Konsen wilderness and the coastal sceneries. You will surely think that the various sceneries of these footpath resonate with you.

このシーニックバイウェイには、自然はもちろんのこと産業景観を味わうフットパス、ラムサール条約湿地を観察できる木道開拓の歴史を知る鉄道遺産散策路など、総延長100㎞にもおよぶ歩く道を整備しています。歩く速度でしか感じられない、気づけない旅を味わってみてください。

In this scenic byway, there are not only the nature but also the industry landscapes through footpath, boardwalk to observe the wetland of Ramsar Convention and walking path of railroad heritage to feel the pioneering history. Their footpath is total length of 100km. Surely there are some things that you only can feel and find by walking. Enjoy this trip with your feet.

地元素材を使った食事やデザートが充実している「レストランATTOKO」、ソフトクリームなどのテイクアウトやかわいい雑貨を揃えた「ちいさな雑貨屋Etable」、たくさんの動物と触れ合える「あっとこ家畜動物園」などがあり、根室のフットパスのマップも購入できます。

Akesato Ito Dairy Farm

Akesato Ito Dairy Farm have a restaurant “Restaurant Attoko”, a souvenir shop “Etable” and a small zoo “Attoko Livestock Zoo” to contact with animals. In the restaurant, you can eat meals of local ingredients and sweets. Etable provide soft-cream and goods of cows. Also, you can buy the map of Nemuro footpath in this shop.
