北太平洋シーサイドラインのハイライト

 

北太平洋シーサイドラインは十勝の広尾町から根室市の納沙布岬まで続く、全長321kmに及ぶ海岸線の総称ですが、中でも釧路町から根室市まではそのハイライトと言えるもので、次々に絶景の現れる、日本離れした景観が人気のドライブルートになっています。愛冠岬、涙岬、霧多布岬、落石岬といったスケールの大きな岬、霧多布湿原はもちろん、沿道に咲き乱れる花々、またこのルートは霧がかかることが多いことなどから、別名「岬と花の霧街道」とも呼ばれています。

 

 

The highlight of North Pacific Seaside Line

North Pacific Seaside Line is a general term for these beaches along the 321 km coastline from Hiroo city to Nosappu cape of Nemuro. Especially from Kushiro to Nemuro, it’s highlight because there are a lot of magnificent scenery and this route is popular driving way to see beautiful scenery which is rare in Japan. There are many capes, blooming flowers in Kiritappu wetland and the fog happens frequently in this area, thus this route is also known as “the highway of cape, flower and fog”.

Driving in the wonderful scenery

 

This route is one of the best views of coastline in Japan, for example varied coastlines with many ups and downs, cliffs, beaches, wetlands, lakes and capes.

Roadside Station “Akkeshi Gourmet Park” → Aikappu Cape → Ayamegahara Wild Flower Garden → Namida Cape → Biwase Observatory → Kiritappu Wetland → Kiritappu Onsen “Yuyu” → Ochiishi Cape → Nemuro Station

霧多布湿原木道

 

琵琶瀬木道・仲の浜木道・奥琵琶瀬木道・やちぼうず木道の４つの木道が整備されており、5月にエゾエンゴサクやミズバショウ、6～8月にはワタスゲ・エゾカンゾウ・エゾリンドウなどが咲き、全部で400種近い草花が見られます。また多くの野鳥やエゾシカの群れを見ることもできます。

Kiritappu wetland boardwalk

Kiritappu wetland has 4 boardwalks (Biwase, Nakanohama, Oku-biwase and Yachibouzu) and about 400 species of flowers are living here. Many wild birds and deer are also observed.

霧多布湿原センター

 

霧多布湿原の魅力や情報を発信しているほか、広大な湿原を一望できる展望ホール、カフェやミュージアムショップ、バードカービングや漁師さんが作った木のおもちゃといった、見て、触って、遊べる展示などがあります。

Kiritappu wetland center

This center spreads the charms and the information about Kiritappu wetland. There are observatory, cafe and museum’s shop. They exhibit the bird carving and wooden toys made by fishermen. Enjoy watching, touching and playing them!
